Mountain State; City of Mooresville Partner for Success

Mooresville, NC- Mountain State University and the city of Mooresville are partnering to create greater educational opportunities for city residents. MSU President Charles Polk and Mooresville Mayor Bill Thunberg are signing a memorandum of understanding that supports the mutual goals of the town and university in making higher education accessible and affordable. The signing will be held Monday, July 13, at 3pm on the MSU Mooresville campus.

LAKE NORMAN REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER HOSTS BENEFIT FAIR FOR EMPLOYEES

Mooresville – Recently, The Human Resources Department at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center hosted a successful Benefits Fair for its employees. About 250 employees participated in the event and were able to talk with representatives from over 10 vendors. They were able to discuss the benefits that they are able to receive, ask questions and learn more about what exactly each vendor has to offer.

Employees also had the opportunity to win several door prizes that were donated from local businesses and vendors. “The Benefits Fair was well received by our employees and we have received numerous positive comments from them about the workshop,” says Kathleen Zala, Human Resources Assistant.

Charlotte Regional Partnership Annual Awards Luncheon May 28

Murdock, chief executive of Dole Foods and visionary behind the North Carolina Research Campus, and The University of North Carolina at Charlotte will receive the Charlotte Regional Partnership’s 2009 Jerry Awards during the Partnership’s Annual Awards Luncheon May 28, 11:30 a.m., at the Charlotte Convention Center.

The Jerry Awards recognize individuals or organizations that have made significant, ongoing contributions to economic development within the 16-county Charlotte USA region.
