LNBM/CBM REturning to Original Owners; Minter Parting Ways
Concord – Comfort Publishing, LLC, parent company of both Cabarrus Business (CBM) and Lake Norman Business (LNBM) magazines, announces that former Carolina Panther, Mike Minter has relinquished his controlling interest in the company in order to pursue other interests. The magazines will now fall back under control of its original ownership, Pamilla Tolen and Jason Huddle.
“I have so many things going on right now,” explained Minter. “At some point you have to look at what you, as only one person, can handle and I felt the magazines would be in good hands if I were to let them go.”
For his part, Huddle is equally excited about this new season for the publications. “Mike and I enjoyed a great partnership for two years and I am grateful for all the ways he helped our company,” he said. “But Mike is simply too busy to handle everything he’s got going and I am more than happy to take this off his shoulders.”
Huddle also said that readers won’t see huge changes in the format of CBM or LNBM. “I think we’ve got a winning formula and it has been working well since we re-launched the magazine in December, 2007,” he said. Due to this change in leadership, Huddle will take over the responsibility for writing the editorials for each issue.
Minter has plenty left on his plate to keep busy. Currently, his own marketing company, Minter Consulting, is launching a new affiliate program. He also recently launched “The Student Athlete’s Equation”, which is an educational and athletic program designed for youth, ages 7 to 14. In addition, Minter is also preparing for his second season as head coach of the First Assembly football program in Concord.
CBM was originally launched in January, 2001 under the direction of Huddle and Tolen. Minter then partnered with the two in the summer of 2007. Under his leadership, CBM was redesigned and LNBM was launched for the Lake Norman region in the fall of 2008. “We’ve accomplished some great things,” said Minter. “But I feel I’ve taken it as far as I can with everything else I’ve got going. It’s time for Jason and Pam to take back the reigns and lead the magazines into a new era. I wish them all the best.”
